THERE’S another chance to view a spectacular model steam railway this Sunday, July 17.
This ever-popular attraction represents the east coast main line from Kings Cross to Leeds Central in the heyday of steam in ‘0’ gauge.
All the usual locos will be running such as the Flying Scotsman, Mallard and many other main line locomotives.
It’s all on show at the one-day opening for the Gainsborough model railway from 1.30pm-6pm.
Members have been busy working on the scenery, including new station buildings at Hitchin, which is in the large Leeds room in the former Victorian school.
The model railway is run to a timetable with signals and bells as on the real railway, and they try to run the trains on time.
Admission is £4 for adults, £3 for children and senior citizens, and £10 for a family ticket (2+2).
The railway can be found at Florence Terrace, near Tesco car park.
