Walking is a great way to get both the mind and body fit, so take advantage of the last few days of this year’s Wolds Walking Festival to get out and about with like-minded folk.

The Festival began on May 16 and finishes this Sunday, May 31, with a finale event at Belchford.

But before then, there are a number of walks to enjoy.

Today (Wednesday) there is a 13.5 -mile walk from Caistor, following the Viking Way along the top of the Wolds back to Market Rasen.

Meet in Market Rasen to take the 9.30am bus to Caistor; full details from the walk leader on 07816 543538.

There is also a four-mile walk through the countryside around Caistor today, setting off at 10am from the Arts and Heritage Centre, as well as a one-mile gentle stroll through the town’s streets, starting at 2pm in the Market Place.

Or why not enjoy ‘Ice Cream Heaven’ with a short stroll around Willingham Fayre farm at North Willingham, starting at 2pm and finishing at the ice-cream parlour.

On Friday, May 29, there is an energetic 9.5-mile walk from Nettleton to Rothwell.

Booking is essential for this walk, which is led by Caistor Walkers are Welcome.

Call 01472 851468 or 07599 006314 to book and to get the starting point.
