Scrooge heads to the Riverhead

THE TIMELESS tale of A Christmas Carol takes to the stage at Louth Riverhead Theatre next week.

Staying true to the novel, this adaptation is one for the whole family and is a great way to start the festive season. So make sure you add it to your Christmas wish list!

Director Maureen Lill is not the only one to put her creative twist on this Dickens classic, as it has been adapted a multitude of times for stage and screen.

Parodies of the tale have also been produced, the more well-known ones including the Muppet Christmas Carol, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, and the one-off comedy, Blackadder’s Christmas Carol.

Everyone loves Christmas time, don’t they? Well, everyone apart from stingy Scrooge.

One dark night, the ghost of Scrooge’s old friend and business partner, Marley, haunts his dreams, telling him if he does not change three ghosts will come to show him the error of his ways. The ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future come to Scrooge in a dream, convincing him to change his ways before it’s too late. But can Scrooge find the true meaning of Christmas?

The Playgoers run is from Monday, December 5 to Saturday, December 10, and tickets are selling fast.
