Colin Dexter’s eponymous, sleuth made famous by the late, great John Thaw, returns to the stage at Louth’s Riverhead Theatre this week in an original play written by Alma Cullen, author of several episodes of the original TV series.

Opening with a performance from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, a young professional actress playing Ophelia dies suddenly mid-performance.

And Inspector Morse is immediately on the scene, having been in the audience.

The stage is cordoned off and becomes a fully fledged murder scene.

The plot delves deep into Morse’s past as a student in Oxford, uniting him with ‘ghosts’ from his past.

House of Ghosts tour by Baroque Theatre Company will be at The Riverhead
Theatre this Friday, March 27.

The performance starts at 7.30pm, with tickets £12 from the Box Office on 01507 600350 or online at .
