Up Pompeii - a hilarious romp bringing back all the television favourites from the BBC’s hit series - will be performed by Louth Playgoers this month.
And in Frankie Howerd’s role as Lurcio, Senator Ludicrus Sextus’s slave will be the talented John Hewer.
As Lurcio attempts to deliver his prologue and begin proceedings, he is caught up in the myriad of sexual liaisons in all quarters of his master’s house.
Chaos ensues as an increasing rumbling is heard in the distant.
What could it possibly be? Is Senna, the gloomy soothsayer correct for once, whoa, whoa and thrice whoa!
Up Pompeii will be on stage at Louth’s Riverhead Theatre from September 12 to 20, with shows at 7.30pm.
