A Swinging Sixties story of mistaken morals, broken hearts, 45s and Beehives comes to the Broadbent Theatre, Wickenby this week.
It is a welcome return for Vamos, the Uk’s leading full mask theatre company, as they present The Best Thing.
The year is 1966. Helen is seventeen, unmarried and pregnant.
Like so many women, she is given no choice but to give up her child.
Eighteen years later, and her son returns looking for his mum.
But things are not as he imagined: where is Helen? And what will he discover about his life that might have been?
Based on true experiences, it is an inventive, humorous and poignant story.
The Best Thing is on Friday, March 4 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £9 and £8 from www.broadbenttheatre.org or call 01673 885500.
