Show-stopping songs will open festival on right note

A SPARKLING programme of hit songs will get the 2011 Louth Music Festival off to a rousing start.

Louth Choral Society will bring Broadway and the West End to the town, when they present Songs from the Shows in St James’s Church on Sunday, July 3.

Among the shows featured will be Les Miserables, Chicago, Carousel and Mamma Mia.

So, release your inner Meryl Streep – or Pierce Brosnan – and be transported to Paris, New England, Chicago, Times Square and the Greek islands for an evening of show-stopping entertainment.

Also taking part in the concert will be the Louth Junior Choir, led by Kate Witney.
