Plank 2013 - Market Rasen’s art and craft festival - continues with a range of free workshops.

There is plenty to keep the children busy over the school holiday week too.

Coming up next week are drawing taster session in St Thomas’s Church Room on February 18, 1.30pm to 3.30pm - discover basic techniques with a variety of materials under the guidance of Janet Minty in an informal session. Beginners welcome.

Rigid square weaving in The Hub on February 19, 10am to 12 noon - kids, join junior craft leader Catherine Meakin as she introduces you to weaving and recycling.

Applique pictures in St Thomas’s church Room, 9.30am to 12 noon - join professional needleworker Linda Patrick as she teaches each child a variety of stitches to create an appliquéed picture to take home and treasure.

Storybook illustration in Market Rasen Library on February 22, 10am to 12 noon - the library team introduces experienced exhibiting artist Afifa Ematullah Sutherland for an inspiring children’s workshop in story book illustration.

For music lovers, there will be a guitar workshop, for guitar players of all abilities, in Market Rasen Library on February 23, from 1.30pm to 4pm, led by Soundlincs.

Jossals bistro will be the setting for a whole day workshop led by Tealby artist and art teacher Helen Shore on Saturday, February 23, from 10am to 4pm.

Artists will be able to enjoy the process of experimentation - the drying time allows for more creativity and developed outcomes.

This Saturday, Market Rasen’s Market Place will have a demonstration of ‘xtreme chainsaw’.

This will be a treat for bikers, as it will be only the second appearance of Simon Bogg’s large scale oak carving of motorbike legend Guy Martin
