TAKE a journey through the four seasons at a lunchtime concert in Caistor next week.
As part of the Lincolnshire International Chamber Music Festival, the first of the Rising Stars recitals features some of the most outstanding young musicians from the UK and beyond.
The lunchtime recital on Friday, August 17, begins at 1.30pm and opens with Piazzolla’s evocative ‘The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires’, followed by pieces from Gershwin’s much loved ‘Porgy and Bess’ and Brahms’ autumnal ‘Clarinet Trio’.
Also included in the attractive programme is an unusual version of Beethoven’s enduringly popular ‘Spring’ sonata and ‘Winter Trees’, a sonata for violin and piano, is the second work in the festival’s portrait of Composer-in-Residence, Sally Beamish.
The musicians include Anna Hashimoto - clarinet, Tamsin Waley-Cohen - violin, Victoria Simonsen - cello, Kumi Matsuo - piano, and Richard Uttley - piano.
Tickets for the concert in Caistor Methodist Church are priced at £13 (£12 concessions/accompanied 18 and under - free) and are available from Caistor Post Office, 01472 851201.
