The living musical heritage of British and Irish folk songs stretches back a thousand years and St Mary’s Church at Claxby will be filled with the sound of this rich store of treasures when they welcome the Albion Choir to perform this Saturday, June 27.
Albion, which features Claxby singer Chloe Saywell, presents music you will never have heard before and yet which you are likely to find deeply familiar.
The choir formed in 2012 and since then has performed at numerous venues across the country, including twice this year at the English Music Festival, on BBC Radio 3 and, uniquely, underground in the Peak Cavern at Castleton.
Advance tickets for the concert cost £8, £10 on the door, and under 16s £1 from 01673 828315 or email : firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wine and nibbles are included in the ticket price, which will be served from 6.30pm.
