This Sunday’s Blues Session at Holton le Moor’s Hope Tavern welcomes Manchester’s “The Lol Goodman Band” making their first appearance in this part of the world with their own brand of blues rock, playing both originals and covers.
The band is highly reminiscent of early 60s and 70s Blues and R&B as that is exactly when this bunch of musicians began their musical careers, eventually coming together as the Lol Goodman band.
Prolific writer since the age of 14, Lol himself plays lead guitar and vocals, James Horrocks on bass, John Firth on drums and Rod Mayall (brother of John) plays keyboard.
These are musicians at the top of their game and tick the all the boxes for fans of good music who can share the pride, passion and infectious enjoyment at the gig, which starts at 4pm this Sunday, April 19.
The door charge is £8.
