The iconic figure of a ‘femme fatale’ is celebrated through music in a live show at Binbrook Village Hall this weekend.
In a sophisticated and stylish show, Sarah Moule features the role of a femme fatale in all her feisty glory as heroine, heartbreaker and role model.
Sarah and her pianist Jenny Carr will conjure up the smoky laid-back atmosphere of a 1950s New York nightclub atop the Lincolnshire Wolds with their edgy and entertaining show.
One of Britain’s most exciting jazz vocalists, Sarah challenges commonly held ideas of ‘femme fatales’ and looks at why certain women, some real - Cleopatra, Mata Hari - and some cultural icons - Eve, Salome, Film Noir temptresses - have come to be thought of in this way and what that means.
And the show will include songs from some of the greatest songwriters, including; Cole Porter, Bob Dylan, Fran Landesman and Stephen Sondheim.
Songs for Scarlet Women is on Sunday November 23.
Doors open at 7pm, show starting at 8pm, with tickets £8 on the night or £7 in advance from 01472 399641 or 398153.
