Music from the deserts heads to Nettleton

A MAGICAL and mesmerising musical treat is promised at Nettleton Village Hall next week.

Bringing beautiful traditional acoustic music from the desert nomads and Royal Court Music traditions of Mali The Tunde Jegede Ensemble present Ancient Fures on Friday, April 8, at 7.30pm.

These wonderful musicians bring the sweet, delicate sounds of the kora, the gentle enchanting rhythms of the small udu drum, plus the haunting melodies of other traditional instruments.

The concert follows a journey from the ancient to the contemporary, drawing from their superb recent album, There was a Time.

Led by the composer and kora maestro Tunde Jegede, this concert features the young singer and virtuoso instrumentalist Sona Maya Jobarteh.

These internationally- renowned artists continue to delight audiences worldwide.

Tickets for the concert cost £7.50, available in advance from 01673 828478 or on the door.
