Make a promise to help church

AUCTION – Do you have a skill you would be willing to sell to the highest bidder?

An auction of promises will be held next month to raise funds for Walesby Church.

Goods will also be accepted for sale at the event being held on Friday, March 23, in Walesby Village Hall.

Viewing can be made on the day from 6pm and the bidding will start at 7.30pm.

Refreshments will be available too.

“We hope this will be a light-hearted evening that will help to raise some much-needed funds for the church,” said Liz Carr, one of the organisers.

“We would ask that goods and pledges are made known to us by March 21 so they can be included in the sale catalogue.

“It would also be very helpful for people to provide a brief description of the service or item they are offering.”

Anyone wanting to donate an item to the auction or pledge a promise of time – which could be anything from ironing a basket of washing or giving a golf lesson – is asked to contact Liz at The Rectory on 01673 838513, or email her on, or call John Winton on 01673 843310.
