Local historian John Terry will be giving a talk next Tuesday, August 19, at Humberside Airport about William Hugh Ewen - pioneer, aviator and John’s grandfather.

Organised by the Northern Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Project, John’s talk will give an insight into his grandfather’s exploits in the early years of flight, and John will also be happy to answer any questions his audience may have.

John is currently writing a biography on his grandfather who became an RAF Major in 1918.

The talk will start at 7pm and tickets for the evening cost £7.50, including tea and biscuits, from Brigg Tourist Information Centre 01652 657053.

Tickets are limited and those attending will also get a glimpse of the Canadian Lancaster, which will be visiting the airport for a few days in August, subject to weather and availability.
