A TOWN’S hidden heritage will come under the spotlight at a mini walking festival being held this coming week.
A series of six walks will take place at Kirton Lindsey and each one costs £1.
Each walk starts at 10.30am from the town hall.
The first is a town trail around the town on Sunday, October 23.
The three and a half mile walk is mainly on pavements, but does include a hill.
On Monday, there will be a pub walk - looking at the pubs, malthouses and breweries of the past and the present.
A short walk on Tuesday will look at the site of the old Victorian prison and the various points of interest in Kirton built from the ruins of the building.
A more substantial walk of ten miles next Wednesday will look at the industrial heritage of the town.
Another short walk on Thursday will be a guided internal tour of the renovated town hall and finally, on Friday, there will be a spooky 10-mile folklore walk, taking in the magical countryside of Kirton.
For more information and to book a place call Helen on 01673 843275 or just go along to the town hall, suitably dressed and ready to go at 10.30am on the day.
