FEBRUARY is the time of year to seek out the snowdrops.
Make a date to visit Hackthorn Hall gardens on Sunday, February 19, between 1pm-5pm.
Entry is £3, with parking free, and tea and cakes will be on sale in the adjacent village hall.
Also offering a display of snowdrops is the Walled Garden at Panton.
This rural spot off the Benniworth Road was part of the garden of the historic Panton Hall, home of the Turnor family for so many years, but sadly now demolished.
Owners David and Jenny Eckford have worked tirelessly to restore the area to its former glory and will be holding a charity coffee morning from 10am-12 noon on Friday, February 17.
Admission is £2, including coffee and biscuits, and there will be a raffle and bring and buy stall too, with proceeds for the St Mary’s Church Tower Restoration Fund.
