A bid to make the Bard ‘à la mode’ is the subject of a one-woman show taking to the stage at Caistor Town Hall this weekend.
Set in the mid 18th Century, the play tells the true story of a group of Ladies of Quality who determined to make Shakespeare fashionable - and much more.
Expect fine words, fabulous costume, flirtatious scandals and fascinating trivia as Mrs Cowper de Grey entertains with tales of Georgian England.
She then introduces her surprise guest... and the Lords, Gentlemen and Ladies of the audience are told a very different tale; of a London unseen by People of Quality.
Following her much-admired performance of ‘The Sixth Wife’ in 2012, The Shakespeare Ladies Club sees a much welcome return to the Caistor stage for Alison Neil.
Part of the iARTSco-caistor season of live theatre, The Shakespeare Ladies Club will be at the town hall this Saturday, February 16 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £9 (Students £6) in advance from Caistor Post Office or the box office on 01472 851159.
