Louth Choral Society welcomes Richard Crossland as guest conductor for their concert on November 23.
Richard was for several years a very active Musical Director in professional theatre and has directed opera, major concerts on London’s South Bank, and performances on radio and in major festivals.
The choir will perform the ‘Mass in D’ by Dvorak and Howells’ ‘Requiem’.
Although Howells wrote his ‘Requiem’ in the 1930s it was not published until 1980 and, appropriately in this anniversary year of the outbreak of World War I, is inextricably linked to untimely youthful death.
The choir also welcomes back their former Assistant Musical Director Tony Pinel, who will be playing organ pieces by Louis Viern.
Tickets cost £12 for reserved seats, accompanied children £6, and £8 unreserved, with under 18s free.
