The second weekend of the West Lindsey Churches Festival, this Saturday and Sunday, focuses on the eastern section of the district, with plenty to offer in the Market Rasen and Caistor areas. More than 40 churches are open, many serving refreshments and some offering extra events, including:
Brookenby - craft fayre and light refreshments, Saturday 10am to 4pm.
Cabourne - exhibition and demonstrations on influence of sheep and wool in the county, plus light refreshments, books and plants for sale, Saturday 10am - 5pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm, with service 10.30am.
Caistor - theme The Farming Year, with a flavour of Lincolnshire, Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 11.30am - 4pm.
Caistor Methodist - organ music and exhibition ‘A bird’s eye view of Caistor’, plus Christian Aid lunches 11.30am - 1pm; open Saturday 10am - 4pm.
East Barkwith - old village photographs, with emphasis on those who fought in WW1, 10am - 5pm both days.
Faldingworth - exhibition entitled ‘The Bible’, plus cakes, plants, books and bric-a-brac, 10am - 5pm both days.
Friesthorpe - lunches 12 noon - 2pm both days, open 12 noon-3pm.
Grasby - clock tower open, plus village history display, 2pm - 5pm both days.
Legsby - displays of beekeeping and Old School Community Centre project, plus beef rolls etc, 11am - 3pm both days.
Market Rasen Methodist - Spring Fayre Saturday 10am - 1pm, with lunches 11am-1pm, open until 4pm, 12 noon - 4pm Sunday.
Middle Rasen - exhibition ‘Say it with Flowers’ plus children’s workshops, Saturday 9.30am - 4.30pm, Sunday 12 noon - 4.30pm.
Nettleton - flower festival ‘Out and About’, refreshments, plants and books, Saturday 10am - 5pm, Sunday 11.30am - 5pm.
Normanby le Wold - hands on crafts and exhibition, Saturday 10am - 5pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm.
Searby - flower displays and stalls, Saturday 10am - 5pm, Sunday 10.30am - 5pm.
South Kelsey - local history exhibition, Saturday 10am - 5pm, Sunday 11am - 4.30pm.
Tealby - Tennyson exhibition, refreshments and evening of music with organist Simon Cole Saturday 7pm, open Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 11.30am - 4pm.
Walesby St Mary - display of findings from ‘Down Your Wold’ project, Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm.
