A tour by one of the most compelling voices on the roots-rock/Americana scene is stopping off at Kirton in Lindsey this week.
Carrie Rodriguez from Austin, Texas is a wonderfully creative artist - she plays the violin beautifully and she sings beautifully.
And she is such a star in her home city they honoured her by proclaiming January 17th Carrie Rodriguez day.
She comes to the area as part of the Kirton Town Hall Live series of concerts and will be playing at the venue this Friday, November 7.
Luke Jacobs will accompany Carrie; his subtle lead guitar and slide guitar provides a perfect foil for Carrie’s driving violin and emotive singing.
Support at Kirton Live will be from The Velveteens, three 16-year-old girls from Otley who are inspired by vocal groups from the 50s and 60s.
Advance tickets for November 7 cost £11 (otherwise £12.50 on the door) and are available from the One Stop store in the town, from Brian on 01652 649230 or online at www.wegottickets.com
Doors open at 7pm, with music from 7.30pm.
