It’s the most magical night of the year, but in Market Rasen things start in the afternoon, with a special visit from a very special person.
It is a tradition that has been going for some 65 years and this Christmas Eve will be no different.
With the help of the town’s Christmas Tree Committee, Santa will arrive on his sleigh in the town’s market place at 4pm.
He will then hand out a seasonal gift to each child aged up to seven years.
Children will also receive some fruit.
The gifts and fruit are all possible through sponsorship from local businesses and support of people through the Christmas raffle.
The Market Rasen Children’s Christmas Tree Fund has been in existence since 1951 and ensures the town’s tree and Father Christmas continue to delight all ages and bring some seasonal magic to the town.
