Brigg St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School staged a Christmas play with a difference this year.
After their research on the First World War, they realised the significance of the 100th Anniversary of the start of the war this year and the story of how British and German troops stopped the fighting on Christmas Day is well documented.
And this year’s play focussed on just that.
Pictured are children representing British soldiers, left, and the children on the right, the Germans.
So, with a Christmas tree in the background and a football provided, the children were ready to tell again the famous story of peace for one day in the trenches 100 years ago.
