It all started with a ‘kiss’ at Rasen

Christmas came to Market Rasen, when keeping with 2012’s sporting theme, Olympic torchbearers Stuart Parker and Steve King, brought their torches together for the recognised ‘kiss’ signalling the official light switch on.

Children from Market Rasen, Middle Rasen and Osgodby schools entertained with carols and seasonal songs, to the delight of the crowd.

Meanwhile, the Festival Hall was packed with stalls run by local organisations and charities raising money for their funds at the Mayor’s Charity Fair.

“I am very pleased with the whole event,” said Town Mayor Stephen Bunney.

“It has been lovely to see so many people here to start our Christmas celebrations.”
