After a career in aviation a Lincolnshire food fanatic has decided to turn her culinary skills in to a business and is also bidding to introduce supper clubs to the county.
Karen Connolly left the RAF last year and retrained in a completely different field.
She completed an eight month professional diploma in food and wine from the renowned London cookery school Leith’s School of Food and Wine.
“I’m a fanatic foodie and obsessed with all things food,” Karen said. “As a result I felt I wanted to do something that would bring a foodie feel to Lincolnshire.”
Karen set up Lexi’s Larder providing catering, teaching and celebration cakes.
However, the part of the venture she is most excited about is the setting up of a ‘secret’ supper club.
These can be used as an opportunity to meet new people, and it involves a three course meal with an aperitif, amuse bouche and tea or coffee at a set price in the region of £30.
