The Lincolnshire Cricket League season gets going this weekend with Market Rasen 1st Xl opening the batting with a home game in Division 2 against Nettleham 2nd Xl.
Meanwhile the Sunday 1st XI oppose Heckington CC in the Lincoln League.
Market Rasen 2nd Xl have to wait until Saturday April 30 before getting into action when Caistor 3rd Xl skipper Ernie Allison will bring his team to Rase Park.
Caistor Town Cricket Club’s first-team will start their Lincolnshire League Premier League season this Saturday.
Peter Briggs will again captain the side who will host Scunthorpe Town 1st XI in the opening weekend of the Lincolnshire Premier Division programme.
Dan Healey will captain the second-team who open the 2011 season on the same day with a trip to Owmby 1st XI.
The 2nd and 3rd XIs play in Division Two and Division Four respectively. The Sunday XI play in the North Lindsey League Division One.
The Caistor Cougars Sunday team will kick-off their North Lindsey League Division One campaign with a trip to Scunthorpe Town 4th XI. The match will take place at Heslam Park on Sunday May 1.
Caistor also run junior teams which will again compete in the John Pettit’s Grimsby and District League, with the exception of the Under 17 team, who play in the Scunthorpe League.
Having resigned from the Lincolnshire League at the end of the 2010 season, Brigg Town Cricket Club have only one Saturday team this season and will be playing in the East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance division three, against teams from Hull and district.
This was the competition in which Brigg’s second team used to play.
Their season opens on Saturday May 7 with a visit to Sutton-on-Hull 3rds.
Sutton then visit Brigg on May 14.
