Top shots from Market Rasen and District Rifle Club were honoured at the annual presentation at Jossals restaurant in Market Rasen, which was well supported with members and family present on the night.

The presentation, organised and performed by the club secretary Tom Murtagh, saw club president Shirley Sanderson making the presentation to the winners.

The winning junior of the year was Callum Murtagh who has shown an aptitude for adapting to new disciplines during the year.

Last year’s junior winner moved up in to the senior section and on his first year Harry West was a division winner, which is promising for next season.

The club team shooters kept up the tradition of Market Rasen Rifle Club and won their division with the team made up or Tome Murtagh, Rob Burns, Maddie and Bill Emms.

Luke Wilkinson took the sporting rifle title and was presented with trophies from the county shoots and competitions; his success was such that he will be investing in a new trophy cabinet.

The club has been successful in securing a Sport
England grant and this will see the club starting a new crossbow section in the autumn based at the club on a Monday evening, several of the club members will shortly be going on a coaching course for the sport.

And October will see the visit of Olympic pistol shooter Georgina Geikie (organised by sporting champions) visiting the club and De-Aston school, where she will demonstrate the Olympic discipline to pupils and staff.
