Market Rasen and Louth Rugby Club held a corporate sponsors day on Saturday with guests from T & R Insurance (Lincoln) Ltd.
The visitors enjoyed a tough encounter against Bedford Athletic who currently sit in fourth position in the Midlands 1 East league and proved too strong for the local side.
The club itself continues to build on its success with the crucial financial support provided by key local businesses, including main sponsors Duckworths Land Rover who have agreed to a three year deal, alongside a two year deal with one of the largest farm commodity traders in the UK Gleadhalls. Further backing comes from long-term loyal supporters Travis Perkins, Rocford and local brewer Tom Woods alongside a number of additional general sponsors.
This has ensured success at both junior and senior level with the U16s beating Lincoln 31-8 on Sunday to reach the semi-finals of the NLD (Notts, Lincs & Derby) cup, joining the U14 and U15 teams who have already qualified for their respective semi-final places.
At senior level the third team continue to perform well in the Lincolnshire merit table, currently sitting in second position behind Lincoln, whilst the second team also hold second place in the NLD Pennant league behind Newark.
At the head of the club the 1st XV continue to compete magnificently against teams drawing from far greater populated player catchment areas and currently sit mid table below Bugbrooke on the same number of points.
