A FANTASTIC first season for the De Aston Equestrian Team was celebrated with a presentation evening in Middle Rasen Church Hall.

“It was a great evening and a chance to thank the sponsors, the children and most of all the parents for their kind support and dedication to the first equestrian team the school has ever had,” said team manager Sandra Murphy.

“The children have done so well this year already by qualifying for the National Championships and competing for the school in various regional competitions and we hope to qualify early in 2012 for the next championships.”

Trophy winners were: as follows: Most improved Rider, presented by Anna Graham MD of Industrial Driver Services - Kurt Roddy; Best Non-Jumping Member - Eleanor Olley, Best Fund Raiser - Charlotte Emmerson, both presented by Mark Dann, MD of Cardsave UK; and Perpetual Trophy for the Best Member, presented by John Fox from the Market Rasen Lions Club - Darbi Murphy.

Africa Walker, Beth Sharpe, Laurel Kavanagh were presented with their team colours for representing the school and also receiving awards were Sarah Howard, Danni Blanch and Louis Mcternan.
