It’s been a five-week gap but jump racing is back at Market Rasen Racecourse this weekend.

Lincolnshire’s only racecourse is staging Armed Forces Family Race Day on Remembrance Sunday, November 9, when there is free admission for members of the armed services on production of their ID.

As well as horse racing, which has attracted horses from all the major training yards in Britain, there is also off-course entertainment for young and old alike, including a child-friendly assault course, a military vehicle display, Second World War memorabilia, a visit by military historian Andrew Robertshaw, fancy dress competitions and face painting.

The first race is at 12.45pm, with the racecourse gates open two hours before.

Adult tickets can be bought at or by calling 0844 579 3009.

Advance prices for November 9, which are discounted, are: County £17.10; Tattersalls £12.60; Family £6.75. Savings of up to 25 percent on on-the-day admission are available on advance purchases.

Accompanied children aged under 18 are admitted free of charge.
