Three Rasen riders were at Oulton Park recently for the Thundersport GB races, with all three bringing home some championship points to boost their overall tally.
The Neave twins, Tom and Tim (20), were both back in action after recovering from their recent injuries and were competing in the GB Racing 600 Sportsman Elite championship round at the 2.692-mile Cheshire circuit.
Qualifying went well for the pair, with Tim qualifying in third place for a second row start and Tom eighth on the fifth row.
In the first of two eight-lap races, Tim beat his brother to take fifth place while Tom was not far behind in sixth position.
Race two saw Tom record a sixth place, while Tim failed to finish the race, going out on lap four.
Tim is now 10th in the rider standings on 77 points and Tom 12th, 10 points further back with 60.
Meanwhile, fresh from his exploits at the Isle of Man TT races, Phil Crowe secured pole position in the Thundersport GP1 class for his first race, just 0.02s ahead of Curtis Wright. He was looking good for a race victory, but he didn’t count on Billy Mellor who passed him and took the win, leaving Phil to come home in second place.
The second race was for the Adam Boyle Trophy where once again Phil was second to Billy Mellor.
Phil now has 162 points and is lying in fourth in the overall rider standings.
