Charlie Hinchcliffe received fourth prize from Market Rasen Golf Club president Dennis Hall, on the annual president’s day competition.
Charlie is only 14 years old and was playing against more than 130 adult golfers. He has only been playing golf for about four years, and has only played it seriously for the past two years, in which time he has reduced his handicap to 22.
Mr Hall said: “We are particularly proud of our junior section, young boys and girls who are given excellent training by both Grant Hinchcliffe and Laurence Warne, our assistant professional.
“We were also proud of the fact that here at Market Rasen, w hosted the Schoolgirls National Championship for the under 13 and 15 age groups, where we were privileged to see wonderful young lady golfers, from so many different golf clubs impeccably behaved, and proving a credit to all those involved with them, playing to the highest standards.
“For Market Rasen, our juniors won the Lincolnshire County Championship last year after beating both the North and South divisions of the county.
“We are always wanting to encourage more Juniors to take up this wonderful game of golf, no need to worry what your children are up to when they are here at Market Rasen on what must be one of the most delightful courses in the county, they not only learn how to play golf, but also learn all the really important side of sportsmanship.”
