SPORTS clubs, leisure centres and sports organisations have one month left until the next deadline for Sportivate funding in Lincolnshire.
More than 110 projects have received around £80,000 funding since July 2011, allowing clubs and organisations to provide sports sessions for children and young people across the county.
Lucy Blakey, children and young people’s officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “Nearly £400,000 is available for sports projects in Lincolnshire to encourage semi-sporty teenagers and young adults to take part in sport over the next four years.
“It’s a great opportunity to encourage young people to get involved in sport, but also provides a huge financial incentive for sports clubs and others, to deliver more sport across Lincolnshire.”
Sports clubs, schools, community groups, NGBs, local authorities, universities, youth clubs, colleges, leisure facilities and workplaces targeting 14–25 year olds can all apply for funding.
Projects are asked to base their applications on £40 per head for six to eight weeks of sport sessions.
The deadline to apply for the next round of funding for projects starting from July 2012 is Friday, May 18 2012.
In particular, people are encouraged to apply if their project focuses on target minority groups, such as women, girls or disability sport.
