More than 100 projects across Lincolnshire have received Sportivate funding totalling over £90,000.
Sportivate is a national programme managed by Sport England and delivered locally through Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.
The funding was for year two of the four-year programme, allowing clubs and organisations to offer sports sessions for children and young people across the county.
Lucy Blakey, children and young people’s officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “It is great to see new clubs applying for Sportivate funding to help encourage young people into their club and promote their sport locally.”
Sports are on offer across each of the seven districts of Lincolnshire with over 23 different sports available for 14–25 year olds.
Sports clubs, schools, community groups, NGBs, local authorities, universities, youth clubs, sixth form and further educational colleges, leisure facilities and workplaces can all apply for funding.
Projects are asked to base their applications on £40 per head for six to eight weeks of sport sessions.
The next deadline to apply for block three of the second year of funding (October 2012 to March 2013) is Friday August 18.
