Brigg fall into the relegation zone

BRIGG Hockey Club slipped into the relegation places in the Yorkshire Premier League when they went down 5-2 at Halifax.

It means that only Lincoln lie below them at the foot of the table.

The Imps went down to fellow strugglers Leeds Adel Carnegie who climbed above Brigg with their win.

Brigg do have two games in hand of these two teams and with the weather postponements before Christmas, it means that there is still half the programme of matches to be played.

Halifax, who often adopted a physical approach, scored three goals in the first half after Brigg had taken an early lead.
