Sunday saw the start of Market Rasen Angling Association’s 2015 summer fixtures with the annual May Fayre Cup being fished for.
Twelve members made the 8.30am draw at the club’s Willingham Road Lake. The anglers were blessed with good weather and only a light breeze so the anticipation that weights would be reasonable.
The all in call came at 9.30am and immediately the anglers were into fish and this was the case for some throughout the match while others struggled with long periods of no action.
At the all out it was Dave Humphreys that took the honours, fishing the feeder from peg 13 to win the match with a weight of 5lb 10oz.
Andy Labaj dusted the cobwebs off his tackle to take second place, fishing the feeder and waggler with 5lb 8oz, and the final pay out place went to Bud Chambers fishing the pole from peg 29.
All anglers caught fish but the anticipated big weights failed to show with the Bream still spawning or waiting to spawn.
The next match sees the start of the Jackson Buildbase Aggregate Shield and the Ted Mann Cup draw 8.30am fish 9.30am till 3.30pm.
