An impressive 17 anglers made the draw for the annual Feast Week Cup at the Willingham Road Lake on Sunday August 4.
The draw took place at 12.30pm and the match was fished over six hours. The weather for the match was a lot cooler than of late and the anglers had to contend with a strong south easterly wind.
At the all in most of the anglers were soon into fish and by the end it was Barry De’Ath, fishing the waggler from peg 29, that weighed in with 7lb 4ozs to claim his third trophy of the year.
Second place went to Andy Labaj, also on the waggler from peg 7, with 5lb 10ozs, and the final place on the podium was claimed by Brian Sutherland, who was fishing on the flyer peg 13, and with only 20 minutes of the match to fish was sitting with 6oz in his net. But he turned things around with four nice skimmers on the feeder to weigh in 4lb 10ozs.
The anglers get back to the Summer League on Sunday August 18 when they will be fishing the penultimate round of the Jackson Builders Merchant Aggregate Shield and for the Presidents Cup. Draw 8am, fish 9am to 2pm.
