Wednesday saw 10 Market Rasen anglers turn out to fish the Jack Larder Memorial match.

Weather conditions for the six hour match were good, and it was Barry De’Ath fishing the feeder, pole and waggler that won the trophy from peg 25 with a weight of 4lb 9oz.

Second place went to Dave Appleyard fishing pole from peg 26 with a weight of 3lb 12oz and the final podium place went to Stuart Cash fishing the feeder from peg 18 with a weight of 3lb 8oz.

The next match in the calendar for the anglers will be the team shield this Sunday, September 15, the draw for pegs and teams being at 8am.

On Sunday September 1, 11 anglers made the draw for the final leg of the Jackson Builders Merchant Aggregate Shield and the H Taylor Cup.

With Bud Chambers having other commitments and unavailable to fish it left the title in the balance with Barry De’Ath in second spot at the start of the match looking for seven points to win the aggregate shield outright.

The match got under way and after five hours of fishing it was Dave Appleyard who took the honours, fishing the pole from peg 26 with a weight of 11lb 11oz.

Second spot went to Dave Humphreys on the feeder from peg 27 with 8lb 10oz, third place went to Andy Labaj from peg 18 with 6lb.

Barry Death managed fifth place and six points so the title was shared with Bud Chambers both anglers on 83 points, Andy Labaj claimed third place with 78 points. It has been agreed between the pair that they will fish off for the Jackson Builders Merchant Aggregate Shield.
