Sunday saw 15 members of Market Rasen Angling Association turn out for the 1st leg of the Jackson Buildbase Summer Aggregate Shield and they were met with very indifferent weather which had sunshine, rain, heavy at times, and a strong wind to contend with throughout the five hours of fishing.
With recent weather conditions taking a turn there was great interest at the draw to see who would be fishing where.
At the all in most anglers started to catch fish on a regular basis, but it was Dave Appleyard, fishing the feeder from peg 9 that turn in the match winning weight of 11lb 11oz. Dave had among his catch two quality bream.
Roy Bentley fishing the pole from peg 29 weighed in with 5lb 14oz, and Stuart Cash took the final podium place from peg 18 fishing the feeder with 5lb 5oz.
The next match on Sunday May 25 will see the anglers fish in the annual Renal Charity Cup match, where 50 per cent of the entry fee will be donated to the Lincoln Renal Unit,
Any club members wishing to take part in the matches can do so by turning up for the 8am draw, match fee £10, fishing 9am to 3pm.
