Following on from last week’s winning draw at top of the table Millers, Richard Boryszczuk took Middle Rasen to Hougham and Marston.
Winning the toss and batting first Chris Potter and Dan Norburn got things underway for the visitors, but in the fourth over Norburn was bowled for four.
Darren Salmon, 11, and father Kevin Salmon, 18, didn’t hang around long, Tom Boryszczuk was dismissed for a duck and when Ivan Nash, batting at seven, went for two, Hougham and Marston must have been thinking that Middle Rasen’s innings was looking like coming to a quick end.
Enter Tom Bradford and skipper Richard Boryszczuk. With the score on 80-6 these two took on the bowling attack with Bradford hitting a fantastic 89 not out.
At the other end, Boryszczuk got himself back in the runs with a good 31 before getting bowled.
Alex Norburn soon followed with his third consecutive duck, giving young Daniel Quinlanto stake a claim to bat further up the order with a smashing 30 runs in no time, giving Middle Rasen a healthy 221-9 wickets.
Hougham and Marston’s innings got under way, losing wickets regularly. Richard Boryszczuk finished things off, bowling them out for 142 and giving Middle a full 20 points, safely securing fifth place.
