Following a superb win over Lindum two weeks before, Middle Rasen were looking to continue that winning mentality at Hartsholme.
Batting first, Middle’s good start suddenly crumbled as two wickets fell in an over, but Will Bradford and Rich Boryszczuk rebuilt until the latter went for 15.
Bradford continued to look strong, and with Ivan Nash (35) added another 60 for the fourth wicket before holing out on 67.
A good ninth wicket stand between Todd Wray (20 not out) and Dan Norburn (12 not out) added 28 in the final four overs, bringing Middle to a very respectable total of 182-8.
Hartsholme looked to be aggressive from ball one in their chase with Worsnop scoring 25 in the first five overs before falling lbw to Norburn (6-0-19-1).
The hosts kept a high run rate until the 11th over when Rush fell, and Mason went the following over to Wray’s brilliant run out.
With tight, restrictive bowling from Liam Entwistle (7-0-22-2), Wray (8-0-32-2), and Dan Salmon (5.5-27-2), the run rate escalated, making Middle firm favourites.
Thirty were still needed off the last four overs when the final wicket fell to cap a brilliant all-round performance.
Middle go into Sunday’s home game with Bracebridge Heath full of confidence and looking for a third straight win.
