Superb performance from Under 9s

MARKET Rasen continued a great run of results with another superb performance at Rustons to make it five victories in a row.

Rasen started the game better and created chances for Joshua Jordan, Greg Watson and Ben Flear.

On their first attack, Rustons took the lead with a well struck shot. This was against the run of play. Rasen had most of the possession and were rewarded when Ben Flear equalised after 20 minutes. Rasen had numerous chances to take the lead but just could not score.

At the start of the second half Rustons came out strongly with Oliver Adlam making a good save to deny them.

Just after this Rustons took the lead with a well worked goal. This seemed to inspire Rasen and they responded well with chances for Greg Watson, George Balmer and Liam Jordon. They equalised with a great shot from Callum Dean.

Rasen were now on fire and two minutes later took the lead with an own goal from Rustons. It was not long before Rasen went 2-4 up with Joshua Jordan scoring.

A great ball winning tackle and superb pass from Davey Wallace sent Joshua Jordan through on goal who despatched a lovely shot to make it 2-5.

In the last minute a foul on man of the match Greg Watson in the box resulted in a penalty which Greg subsequently converted to make the final score 2-6.

This win keeps the youngsters in third place, three points off the top of the League with two games in hand.
