No respite for Market Rasen Town in cup

Market Rasen Town slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Horncastle in the Supplementary Cup on Saturday.

George Burke was on target for Rasen, but the home side won the Group C match thanks to a Scott Lowman double.

But Brigg Town Reserves enjoyed better fortunes as they climbed out of the Lincolnshire League bottom three with victory at fellow strugglers Skegness United.

Goals from Ben Brown and David Deane cancelled out Daniel Reid’s strike to give Brigg a 2-1 win on the coast and leapfrog them above United into ninth.
