Manager resigns after defeat

It’s not been a vintage start to the new season for Brigg Town FC in the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier First Division South.

Brigg have won just two of their seven matches and player manager Scott Hellewell resigned from his position immediately after a humiliating 10-0 defeat at Gresley FC on Saturday.

Brigg were hindered by the 10th minute sending off of goalkeeper Jody Barford (with outfield player Brett Lucas taking over in goal) and never recovered as the home side went goal crazy

The Zebras next match will now be the home Evo-stik League match against Coalville Town on Saturday.

Gary Paton will be caretaker manager for this fixture.
