Great win for Rasen Under 9s

Market Rasen U9s 4 Sleaford Colts 2

Market Rasen stretched their excellent winning run to six games with a fine win against a previously unbeaten Sleaford team.

The game kicked off with Rasen soon on the attack creating chances for Callum Dean and Greg Watson. Sleaford also had a good chance, but Rasen took the lead after seven minutes with a cracking shot from Callum Dean after some good team passing.

George Balmer went close soon after the first goal, but, after 12 minutes, Sleaford equalised when they got in behind the Rasen defence.

The game was now end to end, but Rasen took the lead after 20 minutes with a great shot from Man of the Match Liam Jordan.

Rasen came out strongly in the second half creating some good chances. Sleaford also created two chances, which were well saved by Finley Boyes in the Rasen goal.

Rasen went 3-1 up when a great team move was finished off with a shot from Joshua Jordan, but Sleaford scored straight away to make the score 3-2.

This seemed to bring Rasen to life and they created two good chances before Joshua Jordan scored his second goal with a sublime finish.

Rasen created more good chances with Toby Ross going close and Ben Flear forcing a great save from the Sleaford keeper.

All the team played excellent football, with Kyle Bainbridge having a fine game on his debut.

The next game is away at North Lindum Hawkes next Sunday, where the team have a great chance of moving into the top two in the League.
