FOOTBALL: Market Rasen surrender four goal lead against Louth Town Reserves

Market Rasen Town 4-4 Louth Town Reserves

Jamie Raynor hit a 21 minute hat-trick as Louth Town Reserves came from 4-0 down to draw at Market Rasen Town.

This was a truly memorable match, as with a quarter of the game to go Rasen led through a brace of goals by Paul Nicholson and one apiece from Ian Williams and Joe Osbourne.

Raynor scored a couple of goals in the 67th and 70th minute to give Louth Town Reserves a glimmer of hope. Less than five minutes later Rocky Rawlings netted a good individual goal to put Louth back in contention.

With barely two minutes of normal time remaining Raynor completed his hat trick to earn a point in the Supplementary Cup group stages. It wasn’t enough for Louth Town Reserves to progress to the next round, but Market Rasen travel to Ruston Sports in the last eight in March.

Market Rasen travel to Cleethorpes AKP for a quarter-final tie in the Challenge Cup with a home-tie against Sleaford Town beckoning for the winners.
