FOOTBALL: Market Rasen look ahead to tough derby at Horncastle

Market Rasen Town Football Club were without a fixture at the weekend when their match at Grimsby Borough fell foul to the weather. The game was called off at 11am Saturday morning due to a waterlogged pitch.

This Saturday Rasen travel to near neighbours Horncastle Town for a 3pm Kick off. Horncastle will be looking to avenge their 2-0 defeat to Rasen prior to Christmas. Since then Horncastle’s league form has been the better of the two wolds sides, with Horncastle making several improvements to the their squad of late.

Rasen hope to include Drew Norburn back into their squad after a period out with an ankle injury.

Rasen Manager Ian Williams is looking forward to the fixture. He said: “It’s going to be tough, they are on a decent run and have some lively forward players. We will need to show the same endeavours we showed when we played them at home. Hopefully we will bring a decent following from Rasen, the support has been great all year it means a lot to the players to see them in force on the sidelines.”
