FOOTBALL: Caistor Rovers friendly defeat after poor start

A&G FC 4-1 Caistor Rovers

Caistor Rovers final friendly before the new season starts ended with defeat to an experienced A&G team.

The away side started the game in the worse possible way, conceding three goals inside the first 20 minutes.

At the close of the first half Rovers had been totally out played, this saw Rovers manager Ryan Farrow make several changes at the break and some stern words to his players.

The second period started with Rovers reacting to their managers words and Rovers started to come more and more in to the game. This saw Rovers match there opponents for the second period thanks to a goal from the big forward Paul Lockington.

As much as this was a disappointing result Rovers can take something from there second half display.

Man of the match, sponsored by Savages Fish and Chips, was Luke Niland. Match ball sponsor was Lincoln Construction Services.

Caistor start their season this Sunday to DDS Fish Supplies in the senior cup.
