Market Rasen Football and Cricket Club on Gallamore Lane has a lot to shout about.

On a lovely summer’s evening, football secretary Diane Hawke was presented with the FA Charter Standard on behalf of the Football Section of the club.

This was the culmination of a lot of hard work both by Diane and the rest of the coaching staff at the club, which has included individuals passing FA qualifications to contribute to this achievement.

Following a fantastic season, where they finished second in the W J Harrison Printers Lincoln League, Market Rasen’s senior first team have been promoted to the Sills and Betteridge Solicitors Lincolnshire Football League; a brilliant achievement for the team.

The club is also continuing to provide a great opportunity for children to develop their football skills and their personal attributes by playing as a team.

The junior section continues to grow and next season will have teams in the Mid-Lincs league in U13s, U9s and U8s.

There are still opportunities for children to join in the success as the club is recruiting seven-year-old boys or girls to join the U8s team. Contact Karen on 07775 556810 for further information.

If you believe you can rise to the challenge of a senior first team player then contact Ady on 07854 234252 – or if you want to set up a senior second team then please contact Kevin on 07766 506241.

The football section is part of the very successful town facility at Rase Park. For more information on the many activities run at the venue call the clubhouse on 01673 842171.
