It was another good night in the Caistor Six-a-Side League at Caistor Grammar Sports Field Astroturf as Pete Goy and Ian Weston shared refereeing and league management responsibilities.
The bottom two faced each other in the opening match and Bottom of the League recorded their first win of the season 4-2 against Crusaders. Scott Hodson deserved the plaudits for an excellent performance to help his team score four goals which earned their first points of the season and tripled their goal tally.
CTFC have started to rediscover their form and they leap-frogged Dynamite Parfitt in the table thanks to a man-of-the-match performance from Mike Flower.
He helped his team inflict a second consecutive defeat on Parfitt with a 3-0 win which lifts them to third place.
Grey and Young Ones put up a good fight against league leaders Caistor Techys, but composure and large spells of possession helped the Techys to their sixth consecutive win.
The runaway title challengers, for whom Alex Wade starred, maintained their 100 per cent record and extended their lead to four points.
After last week’s narrow defeat to Techys, Young Prospects look best positioned to challenge the top spot as Terry Wright proved the difference in another close game as the Prospects edged past their opponents NK Dons 1-0.
